Max Vernooij

Maximilian “Max” Vernooij , also known as Max Vernooy (* December 8, 1912 , † November 26, 2004 in Vienna , Austria ) was an Austrian sound engineer .

Live and act

Little is known about Maximilian Vernooij; possibly he had Dutch roots. Vernooij had completed an engineering degree and then initially worked in non-cinematic areas. It was only from 1947 onwards, beginning with Willi Forst's production Der Hofrat Geiger , that he could be proven as a sound engineer for the film. Here he remained active for a dozen years. During this time he supervised a number of Hans Moser films as well as several productions by Franz Antel . In 1959 Vernooij withdrew from the film business. Maximilian Vernooij died around two weeks before his 92nd birthday. He was buried on December 16, 2004 in Sievering, Vienna.
