Max von Mayer-Ahrdorff

Maximilian Freiherr Mayer von Wallerstain and Ahrdorff (* 1845 in Kremsier , Moravia ; † February 8, 1928 in Olmütz ) (pseudonym: Max Mayer-Ahrdorff ) was a Catholic clergyman and poet.

Live and act

Mayer von Wallerstain was the son of the librarian and archivist Eduard Mayer von Ahrdorff . He studied Catholic theology in Olomouc . In 1858 he was ordained a priest , in 1899 he became canon and in 1913 archdeacon of the Archdiocese of Olomouc .

He took the material of most of his works from writings from Moravia. The plays show his ethical and religious convictions.
