Maxette Pirbakas (born April 14, 1975 in Pointe-à-Pitre ) is a farmer and trade unionist from Guadeloupe and a French politician . She was elected Member of the European Parliament in 2019 .

Personal situation

Pirbakas was born on April 14, 1975 in Pointe-à-Pitre.

After graduating from high school, she left the country to become a stewardess in Montpellier , but did not complete her education.

Political career

On April 17, 2019, Pirbakas was surprisingly nominated by the Rassemblement National as a candidate for the 2019 European elections. She replaced Christiane Delannay-Clara , also from Guadeloupe, who was struck off the list on charges of telling the untruth about her previous political career. Pirbakas took over Delannay's candidacy in position 12. On May 26, 2019, Pirbakas was elected to the European Parliament.
