Maximilian Daublebsky von Eichhain , until 1918 Maximilian Daublebsky (born January 17, 1865 in Vienna , † August 28, 1939 in Wildenegg , Krain ) was an Austrian Vice Admiral in the Austro-Hungarian Navy .

Life

Maximilian Daublebsky was a natural, but recognized son of Admiral Maximilian Freiherr Daublebsky von Sterneck and Amalie Pabst nee. Freiin Matz von Spiegelfeld. He was married to Elisabeth Freiin von Minutillo, daughter of Admiral Franz Freiherr von Minutillo (1840-1916).

During the First World War, he first commanded the battleship " Zrinyi ", with which he shot at Sinigaglia on May 24, 1915, when Italy entered the war , and later participated several times in the defense against air raids on Pola . In the spring of 1917 Daublebsky was given command of the V Ship Division, which consisted of the outdated ships of the line of the "monarch class". Shortly before the end of the war, Maximilian Daublebsky retired and was given the nobility on October 16, 1918 with the title "von Eichhain".

He is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz .

He was awarded the Danish Danebrog Order III. Class, the Austrian Order of the Iron Crown III. Class awarded with war decorations and swords as well as the Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander, 5th class.
