Maximilian Opll (* 1978 ) is an Austrian composer , music teacher and choir director .

Life

Opll's musical education began at the age of six with piano lessons and at the age of 15 he performed with a band and as a soloist. In 1993 he composed his first songs.

He attended the Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule Wien / Krems in Strebersdorf , where he passed the teaching examination for English and music education with distinction in 2001. In autumn of the same year he began teaching English and music education at the Kinkplatz computer science secondary school in Vienna's 14th district , where he founded the school choir “The Suburban Voices”. With this he premiered his musical “Far Away” in May 2006. For his work he received several awards from the city ​​school council and the district council . He is active as a choir singer in various projects with various choirs, was director of the “Young Choir” in the parish Liesing from 2005 to the end of 2006 , from 2006 to 2010 musical director of the “Family Singers” in Perchtoldsdorf and from 2007 to 2014 director of the von he founded the choir “The Changing Tunes” in Perchtoldsdorf.

Since January 2014 Opll has been the artistic director of the Viennese teacher a cappella choir. In March of the same year he was awarded the title of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) by the rectorate of the Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule Wien / Krems .

Opll studied vocal pedagogy at the Vienna Conservatory with Martin Vácha and Mathias Reinthaller and graduated with distinction in April 2015.

In May 2015 he made his debut as a conductor in the Großer Musikvereinssaal in Vienna with Handel's “Messiah” with the Viennese teacher a cappella choir and the Capella Savaria.

In April 2016 he was the conductor at the Perchtoldsdorf Franz Schmidt Music Days with Dvorak's “Stabat Mater” with the Vienna Teacher A Cappella Choir, the St. Augustinus Church Choir and the Savaria Symphony Orchestra.

In June 2016 he played Johannes Brahms “A German Requiem” in the version for piano four hands in the Wiener Konzerthaus / Berio-Saal, in December 2016 there was a performance of Bach's “Christmas Oratorio” (I-III) a. a. in the large Musikvereinssaal in Vienna with the Viennese teacher a cappella choir and the Capella Savaria.

In March 2018 he played Bach's “Johannes Passion” in the Vienna Konzerthaus / Mozart Hall with the Vienna Teachers' a cappella choir and the Capella Savaria.

Mendelssohn's "Paulus" followed in May 2019 in the Großer Musikvereinssaal in Vienna with the Viennese teacher a capella choir, the a capella choir Weinviertel and the Savaria Symphony Orchestra. This concert was repeated the following day in the Bartok Hall in Szombathely.

From 2018, Opll completed additional training as a coach for new authority (INA), which he successfully completed in January 2020.
