Life

On October 4, 1846, he married Ida Freiin von Stein zu Nord- und Ostheim, who was a daughter of Carl von Stein zu Nord- und Ostheim . After years of efforts on the part of the Roman Catholic citizens of Lippe, the prince issued the "Edict on March 9, 1854, regarding the legal equality of the Catholic Church with the Protestant regional church". With this, Laßberg had achieved his goal and was able to devote himself to building up the Catholic community in Detmold.
