Maxwell Reed
Maxwell Reed (born April 2, 1919 in Larne , Ireland , † October 31, 1974 in England ) was a British actor .
Life
Reed began his acting career in the late 1940s. He received a contract with the Rank Organization and appeared in numerous British feature films, including leading roles in B-Movies , especially in the 1950s . He married Joan Collins in May 1952 and divorced in 1956. From the late 1950s onwards, Reed worked increasingly in the United States . There he acted in several feature films and television series such as Bonanza and Perry Mason . Between 1957 and 1960 he played the title role in the adventure series Captain David Grief (Eng. "Captain Grief on Board") based on motifs by Jack London .
Reed died of cancer in 1974.
