Maya Zapata (born November 30, 1981 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican actress who is best known in German-speaking countries for her role in the film Bordertown on the side of Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas .

Life

Maya Zapata had her first film roles as a child, including a guest appearance in the 1989 US feature film Old Gringo alongside Jane Fonda and Gregory Peck . However, as a child actress , as in the following productions , she did not get beyond minor supporting roles until she received a leading role for the first time in the drama De la calle . For this she was immediately awarded the Premio Ariel for best actress in 2002. The oppressive film is about street children living in Mexico City who have more trouble with corrupt police officers than with dirty and hard work.

Between 2010 and 2012 she appeared in all 26 episodes of the telenovela Soy tu fan ( Spanish for I am your fan ).
