McIntyre Island is an island off the coast of the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It is the easternmost of the Hydrographer Islands and is located immediately south of the Sakellari Peninsula in Khmara Bay .
Aerial photographs of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) from 1957 were used for their mapping. An ANARE crew visited her in 1959. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named her after Sergeant Hedley L. McIntyre of the Royal Australian Air Force , a machinist at Mawson Station in 1959.
