The McNair nunatak is a small and defined nunatak located in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . It rises 19 km east of the central part of the Masson Range and 8 km south-southeast of the Russell Nunatak .
He was first sighted in November 1954 by a team as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions under the direction of Robert George Dovers (1921-1981). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named him after Richard George McNair, cook at Mawson Station in 1955.
