Mebsuta (from Arabic مبسوطة, DMG mabsūṭa ' outstretched ') is the name of the star ε Geminorum (Epsilon Geminorum). Epsilon Geminorum has an apparent magnitude of +3.06 mag and is about 900 light years from Earth. The spectral type of Mebsuta is G8. Alternative names: Melboula, Melucta.
As a star near the ecliptic, Mebsuta can be covered by the moon and planets. The last occultation of Mebsuta by a planet was on April 8, 1976 by the planet Mars and the penultimate one on June 10, 1940 by the planet Mercury.
