The Astana 10 Years Medal is a state award of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was founded on May 6, 2008 by the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . The occasion was the 10th anniversary of the relocation of the capital to Astana (Nur-Sultan since 2019) .

The 10 Years Astana medal is made of brass and has a diameter of 40 millimeters. The front has the shape of an octahedron and is decorated with traditional ornaments of the Kazakh culture. In the center, the Ak Orda Palace and the Bayterek Tower , the landmarks of the capital Astana, are depicted in a circle . On the back it is written: ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ 2008 .

Award

The medal is awarded to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign citizens who have made significant contributions to the development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its capital.
