history

The company was founded around 1920 in Pausa / Vogtl, Saxony . founded and initially manufactured stockings and corsetry. Albert Weihermüller and his brother-in-law Berthold Voigtmann expanded the business with rubber knitting. After the Second World War, the company settled in Bayreuth. New technologies and patented manufacturing processes developed new lines of business and product lines in the field of medical devices and sportswear. Medi has been the main and name sponsor of Bundesliga basketball players medi bayreuth since 2013 .
