The media insurance a. G. Karlsruhe is a mutual insurance association in the field of property insurance.

history

It was founded in Leipzig in 1899 as book trade fire insurance . In 1948 the company moved its headquarters to Karlsruhe and on December 11, 1985 it was renamed Medien-Versicherung a. G. Karlsruhe around. For a long time only printing companies were insured, but the name change gradually opened up all branches of the insurance business with regard to the media industry. In the 1990s, the private sector opened up to a wide audience.

According to its own information, the company has around 160,000 customers (as of 2010).

In 2019, Medien-Versicherung reorganized its brand and now appears as MVK-Versicherung.
