The madrassah Churdshum or madrasah Khodjambery In ( Uzbek Xo'jashberdiboy Madrasasi ) is a madrassah or the structural remains of a madrassah in Ichan Qal'а , the historic city of Khiva . It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage . It stands directly in front of the much larger Alla Kuli Khan madrasah .

Building

The Khodjambery Bei madrasah was the first to be built on Palwan-Darwaza in 1688. 150 years later the Khan Chiwas Alla Kuli chose this place for the construction of a new madrasah. For this, among other things, the main wall of the Khodjambery Bei madrasah was destroyed. The rest of the old madrasah was cut in two. Large parts served as the foundation of the new Alla Kuli Khan madrasah. The new name Medrese Churdshum ( German saddle bag ) is derived from the two-part division .

The madrasah is an adobe building with little exterior decoration .
