The sea green primrose is a perennial plant that reaches heights of 5 to 15 centimeters. The plant is completely bare. The leaves are basal, lanceolate, pointed, entire, shiny, sea green, up to 8 inches long and up to 2 inches wide. The leaf margin is cartilaginous, glabrous and curled upwards when young.

The stem is significantly longer than the leaves. He wears a two- to five-flowered, upright umbel. The bracts are 5 to 20 millimeters long and narrow-lanceolate. They are always longer than the flower stalks and sometimes reach the calyx tip. The calyx is tubular, 7 to 15 millimeters long, mostly reddish-brown in color and divided to the middle. The calyx teeth are mostly pointed. The crown is pink, purple or light purple in color and 20 to 30 millimeters wide. Your crown lobes are sanded.

The flowering period extends from May to July.

Occurrence

This species occurs in the southern Alps. It is from Lake Como over the Bergamasque Alps to Judicaria . It is found montane to subalpine in stony lawns and on shady rocks on limestone at altitudes of 500 to 2400 meters.
