Ipomoea peruviana is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is common in Peru .

description

Ipomoea peruviana is an almost hairless climber , the stems of which are angled and 4 to 5 mm thick. The leaf stalks can reach lengths of 10 to 20 cm, the leaf blades are up to 20 cm long and 11 to 15 mm wide, egg-shaped, occasionally broadly three-lobed and heart-shaped at the base with rounded ears. The tip of the leaf blade and possibly the tips of the almost egg-shaped lobes are pointed to about 1.2 cm. The leaf margin is unevenly wavy or has a few short teeth near the base. The vein is palm-shaped from nine leaf veins.

The zymous inflorescences consist of a few or up to nine flowers . The inflorescence stalks are 8 to 14 cm long, the strong flower stalks are 2 to 2.5 cm (rarely up to 3 cm) long. The bracts are ovate and 1.5 to 2 mm long. The buds are egg-shaped and pointed. The sepals are blunt or almost pointed, prickly and unevenly shaped. They reach lengths of 22 to 24 mm and are 13 to 15 mm wide. They are mostly elliptical in shape, the outer ones can also be egg-shaped. The crown is funnel-shaped, lavender or purple in color and 8 to 11 cm long. The anthers are 1 cm long and give off prickly pollen grains . The ovary is ovoid, tapering into the pen .

The species is common in the Peruvian regions of San Martín and Loreto and in Ecuador.
