Meernach is a hamlet-like district of Graefenthal in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

Meernach is located on district roads 175/176 with a connection to state road 1150 southwest of Graefenthal in the direction of Steinach . The district is located in a typical low mountain range in the transition to the southeast Thuringian slate mountains .
history
The mountain village was first mentioned on June 29, 1414. On April 1, 1923, the place was incorporated into Graefenthal. In 1941, the town of Gräfenthal's outdoor swimming pool was built in Meernach.
