reception

Kai Wendel from Rock Hard was of the opinion that with this release the band would “split their fan base into two camps, because they are entering musical realms into which no Black Metal band has so consistently ventured before. It takes a lot of courage to mix a blast like 'The Dawn Of A New Age', the ' Nemesis Divina ' opener, into a rather idiosyncratic industrial version with normal vocals. Die-hard Schwarztod fans are sure to clap their hands over their heads and wonder what that has to do with their favorite music. They are compensated by 'Night Of Divine Power', a new, extremely brutal version of the classic 'The Dark Castle In The Deep Forest' and a live recording of 'Forhekset'. At the end of the EP all electro sound freaks get their money's worth, provided they like Motörhead. Satyr & Co. took on 'Orgasmatron' and turned the Lemmy classic into a spacey Black-Industrial number, which would interest me what Mr. Kilmister thinks of it. Anyway, the answer to the question: What can or must we expect from the next Norwegian long groove? ”Steve Hoeltzel of Chronicles of Chaos wrote that the remix of The Dawn of a New Age was“ not quite so terrible as my sarcasm probably makes it sound, ”he still doesn't like it. In Night of Divine Power , the new recording of The Dark Castle in the Deep Forest , he sees no point; the sound is a bit cleaner, even polished, but the piece loses atmosphere compared to the original. Forhekset's live recording sounds “muddy”, but better than expected from the accompanying text, but the piece belongs to the bland and uninspired material that is typical of the overrated album Nemesis Divina . Once again one of the extremes is heading towards the mainstream; he was glad he didn't have to pay for this EP.
