Mehdi Ben Slimane
Mehdi Ben Slimane (born January 1, 1974 in Le Kram , Tunis ) is a former Tunisian football player .
Career
Ben Slimane, who was mostly used as a striker but also as an offensive all-rounder, began his career in Tunisia, where he played from 1994 to 1996 for the current second division club AS Marsa . He came to the then second division SC Freiburg via Olympique Marseille in 1997 . Under coach Volker Finke he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with the team in the 1998/99 season. In 2000 he signed with Borussia Mönchengladbach , where he was only used five times.
So he moved to Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia for one season . After six years, he returned to Tunisia in 2002 and played the last year of his career with the Tunisian flagship club Club Africain .
1998 played in the Tunisian national soccer team and participated for Tunisia in the soccer world championship 1998 in France .
