Mehdi Ghorbani (born January 12, 1988 in Tehran ; Persian مهدی قربانی) is an Iranian boxer .
Mehdi Ghorbani took part in the light heavyweight competition at the Asian Games in 2006 and won the bronze medal. In the semi-finals he lost to Dzhakhon Kurbanov from Tajikistan .
Ghorbani lost his first qualifying match for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing to Zhang Xiaoping . In the second qualifying fight, he was able to qualify for the Olympic Games. In Beijing he was defeated on August 9, 2008 Carlos Negron from Puerto Rico with 4 to 13 points in the preliminary round.
