Mehmet Ünal

Mehmet Ünal (* 1951 in Çanakkale , Turkey ) is a Turkish journalist and photographer who has lived and worked in Germany since 1976.

Life

Ünal carried out different activities. In 1969 he took acting lessons and worked as an actor in various theaters in Istanbul until 1976 . He has published numerous books, mainly on immigrant and minority issues, for example You don't know what it's like to be a stranger everywhere (1982) and Zwei Fremd Augen ein Kurzblick (1985), which, according to a line from the Tucholsky poem, Augen is named in the big city . Various exhibitions and prizes honor his work.

The writer Fakir Baykurt once said about Ünal:

When I see how this tireless artist, this incessant peace fighter with the camera around his neck approaches grievances and succeeds, I am overjoyed. I want to be a permanent witness of the years in which he has many exhibitions and many photo books are published by him.
