Mehmet Dinçer (born January 1, 1924 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player . In the 1950s he played for Fenerbahçe Istanbul for a short time . With the Turkish national team he took part in the 1954 World Cup, but was not used during this tournament.

Little is known about the footballer's career. He played briefly in the 1950s for the traditional Turkish club Fenerbahçe Istanbul .

National team

Without ever before an international match for the Turkish national team to have completed, Dinçer was the coach Sandro Puppo in the squad Turkey for the 1954 World Cup appeal. At the end of the group stage, they finished second in the table, tied with the German selection . Although they had the better goal difference, according to the rules of the time, the group runners-up was decided by a playoff between these two teams. Germany decided this encounter 7-2 for themselves. Due to the great competition on the defensive playing positions at the time, Dinçer did not play a game during the tournament.

After the 1954 World Cup , Dinçer was no longer considered for the national team.
