Meike Koester

Meike Koester (* 1972/1973) is a German singer and songwriter from Braunschweig .

Career

Meike Koester began to write her own songs at an early age and to play them live in front of an audience. She was influenced by artists such as Melissa Etheridge , Suzanne Vega , Ulla Meinecke , Tracy Chapman and Joan Armatrading . From 1991 onwards she performed solo and accompanied herself on the guitar. In 1998 he performed live with a band, the line-up of which has changed over the years.

She released her first album in 1998 under the title Angel . She finances her albums herself and releases them under her own label, eve's apple music production . Shortly after its publication, this CD was only available in a few Braunschweig record stores. It was only later that it was sold through other channels, such as shipping through its own label or internet shops. From the end of the 1990s, she made her first appearances in the USA.

In 2002 the second album was released under the title Soap For Dirty Girls , in 2006 the third album Live Love Travel Free . The fourth album Seefahrerherz , which was released in early 2011, contained songs with German lyrics for the first time.

Meike Koester also organizes guitar workshops.
