All-mile obelisk in Blätz

The Blätz milestone is located in the center of Blätz ( Burgstall municipality ) in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt

The all-mile obelisk is located where today the K 1179 (Burgstaller Straße) meets the K 1180 (Breite Straße). It is assigned to the old postal road Magdeburg – Stendal and is one of the older Prussian milestones that arose before the French occupation . It was planned to renovate the stone back in 1999. In 2001, however, this was only superficial, so that the heavily weathered milestone from around 1800 can only be regarded as restored to a limited extent.

The improvement of the road from Hamburg to Leipzig, which also includes this all-mile obelisk, is considered to be the first Prussian highway project and was decided as early as 1786. The actual implementation of the complete plan did not take place until the years 1825 to 1830.

The distance stone is included in the monument register as a monument with registration number 094 15938.
