Meine Familie & ich is a German-language magazine from Hubert Burda Media on the subject of food and enjoyment. It appears 13 times a year and is one of the group's most successful publications.

history

The first issue of the magazine came on the market in 1966, at that time under the title “Me and my family”. The model for the paper was the English-language magazine Family Circle from Cowles and Thomson , published since 1932 . For the German-speaking market, the publishers founded a joint venture with the DuMont media group , the Co-Publica Verlagsgesellschaft . In 1972 Burda-Verlag initially bought 51 percent of the company and changed the name of the magazine to “Meine Familie & ich”. From then on it was run jointly by the publishers Lord Thomson and Franz Burda . In 1974, Burda-Verlag also acquired the remaining shares in the paper.

In the decades that followed, “Meine Familie & ich” developed into the best-selling magazine for food and enjoyment in Germany. In 2008, BonGusto launched the first television program under the name of the magazine, which is now called “Meine Familie & ich Gastspiel”. In 2008, Burda-Verlag also took over the website daskochrezept.de, which is still part of the brand family. To this day, “Meine Familie & ich” is mainly sold through food retailers. "Special" issues of the magazine appear again and again on a wide variety of topics, for example on the occasion of the cookery duel broadcast on VOX .

Gabriele Höger has been editor-in-chief of the magazine since 2012 . The reach was last at over a million readers.
