Meingoth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meingoth († May 24, 1219 ) was abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Ebrach from around 1204 until his resignation in 1212 .

Life

The sources are silent about the childhood and youth of the future abbot. Likewise, the origin, place of birth or family affiliation of the Meingoth is not mentioned. He was first mentioned as Abbot of Ebrach in 1204 and is still documented as a prelate in 1212. Probably resigned Meingoth yet in 1212 the abbey. The date of death of the abbot is then certain: Meingoth died on May 24, 1219.
