With master of Ansbacher Swan Knights of German is a sculptor called, of some of the grave monuments in St. Gumbertus Church in Ansbach created. You are in the St. George's Chapel of this order church founded by Margrave Albrecht Achilles for the members of the Order of the Swans . With the epitaphs , the master depicted deceased members of the Ansbach knighthood in almost life-size form and full of armor, with their coats of arms and medals like a chain of orders. For example, Conrad von Lüchau is shown.

Creative period and identification

The master of the Ansbach swan knights was active between 1486 and 1515, possibly in Ansbach itself, and is said to have created other grave monuments in Middle Franconia .

The master's name was possibly Jorg Ampauer (1465–1522).
