Master of Chanenko Worship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The master of the Chanenko adoration is an ancient Dutch painter who is unknown to this day and who worked between 1490 and 1500 . He is considered one of the most important successors to Hugo van der Goes . The emergency name goes back to the research of Max J. Friedländer , who named the painter after the diptych with the "Adoration of the Magi", which is now in the Kiev Museum and which was bequeathed to the museum from the collection of Bogdan Chanenko in his will. The works of the master of the Chanenko adoration are of high painterly quality and assure the artist an exceptional position within the old Dutch painting.
