Melanie Schlotzhauer

Melanie Schlotzhauer (* 1971 ) is a German administrator and political officer . Since June 11, 2020, she has been State Councilor of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Integration of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg under Social Senator Melanie Leonhard (SPD) in the Tschentscher II Senate .

Education and professional career

From 1991 to 1994, Schlotzhauer studied at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mannheim and graduated with a degree in administration. She then worked for the Hamburg Employment Agency until 1997 . At the same time she studied economics at the University of Hamburg . After a family time, she studied political science and economics at the Fernuniversität Hagen with a degree in political science and, after studying at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, an MBA in social and health management. This was followed by various consulting and project activities. From 2013 to 2020 she was a member of the management team at Perspektiven-Kontor Hamburg.

Schlotzhauer is a member of the SPD Hamburg . From 2009 to 2013 she was district chairman of the Altona SPD. She also sat in the Altona district assembly until she resigned from her mandate on December 31, 2011.

On June 11, 2020, she was appointed State Councilor.
