Nottz himself also appeared as a rapper. He has his own band called DMP (Durte Muzik Prahdukshun), which has released two albums so far. In 2010 his first solo album You Need This Music was released on Raw Koncept. In 2012 a colloboration album called Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself with Cardinal Offishall was released as a free download, followed by the EP Gods in the Spirit together with Blu via Coalmine Records.

In 2014 he became part of the Soul Council production team at 9th Wonder , who named him “possibly the best hip-hop producer in the world” during the course of the recording.
