A reporting path as a mirror of the chain of command is the specified path of the flow of information that information should or has taken within an organizational unit . It is part of organizational communication .

Reporting channels are common in the military , aid organizations and the police . In business life it is often referred to as the reporting channel.

A message can e.g. B. contain situation reports , reports and requests for assistance .
