Melisbek Myrsakmatov

Melisbek Myrsakmatow ( Kyrgyz Мелисбек Мырзакматов , Russian Мелисбек Жоошбаевич Мырзакматов Melisbek Schooschbajewitsch Myrsakmatow * 18th April 1969 in Papan in the district of Karasu ) is a Kyrgyz politician. He has been the mayor of Osh since 2009 . and is considered a Kyrgyz nationalist and member of the " People's Party " Ak Jol .

In 1995 Miyrsakmatov was at the Osh Technology University. His specialty was economics.

He has been the mayor of Osh since January 16, 2009 and runs a militia.

Since February 2009 Mirsakmatov has been the chairman of the Osh Wrestling Association.

In 2010, in a dispute with the transitional government , he demanded that Osh be named the capital of Kyrgyzstan. In an interview with the Russian newspaper Kommersant, Mirsakmatov assumed responsibility for the ethnic unrest in southern Kyrgyzstan in 2010 , in which between 174 and 2,500 people were killed, especially in Osh, but emphasized that the Uzbeks had started the conflict. He suggested building tenements instead of the burned Uzbek houses.
