Melissa Venema (born April 12, 1995 in Alkmaar ) is a Dutch trumpeter .

Career

Venema lives with her parents in Zaandam, northwest of Amsterdam , and is the youngest of six children.

At the age of eight she discovered the trumpet as a musical instrument. At the age of ten, Melissa passed the entrance examination to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam , the Conservatorium van Amsterdam , where she has been trained ever since. In total, Melissa plays five different trumpets and has already played twice for Queen Beatrix . Another highlight of her career is the interplay with André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra. Since 2008 she has accompanied the orchestra as a soloist for several concerts. In 2007 and 2009 Melissa Venema was on tour in South Africa. In Germany, Melissa found a mentor in the trumpeter Till Brönner , with whom she performed in winter 2010 as part of the ARD television show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel .
