The Melkus RS 2000 is a small- sports car based on a Lotus - chassis . It was manufactured by the sports car manufacturer Melkus in Dresden from 2009 to 2012 .

history

The RS 2000 was presented at the 2009 International Motor Show. It is something like the indirect successor to the Melkus RS 1000 and the transition model Melkus RS 1600, which is only built in very small numbers . Delivery of the first vehicles began in spring 2010. Production ended in 2012 with the bankruptcy and the sale of the manufacturing company's operating assets.

Others

A special feature of the car were the double doors , as the predecessors already had. The chassis of the RS 2000 is made entirely of aluminum . A production of 25 vehicles per year was planned. The starting price of the Melkus RS 2000 was 115,000 euros. One source names 18 vehicles by the end of production.
