The Mello Nunatak is an isolated nunatak in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Freyberg Mountains it extends 11 km east of Mount Staley in the northeastern part of the Evans-Firnfelds on.

The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1969 after Gerald L. Mello, head of Hallett Station from 1966 to 1967 and a member the winter team at McMurdo Station in 1967.
