Melly Oitzl

Melly S. Oitzl (actually Maria-Silvana Oitzl ; * 1955 in Lind / Arnoldstein ) is an Austrian neurobiologist . She is a professor in medical pharmacology at Leiden University and professor of cognitive neurobiology at the University of Amsterdam . Oitzl is particularly interested in the interactions between stress , cognition and emotion . In 1989 she received her doctorate magna cum laude from Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . Her dissertation was entitled The Neuropeptide Substance P : Role in Mechanisms of Reinforcement . Oitzl is a member of the "Earth and Life Sciences" division of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research , from which she received an "Aspasia" research award in 2008. She was a board member and treasurer of the European Brain and Behavior Society . According to the Web of Science , Oitzl has published over 130 articles in “ peer-reviewedscientific journals , which are cited more than 5000 times with an h-index of 33.
