The Melta Point (English; Bulgarian нос Мелта nos Melta ) is a rocky headland on the north coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 1.4 km east-southeast of Siddons Point and 1.5 km north of the summit of Teres Ridge , the northern branch of which is the headland.
Bulgarian scientists mapped them while surveying the Tangra Mountains between 2004 and 2005. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2005 after the ancient city of Melta , which is now in the area of the city of Lovech in northern Bulgaria .
