ICD-10 online (WHO version 2019)

The membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type I is the most common form of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis .

The deposits lie between the endothelium and the basement membrane, in contrast to type III not also between the basement membrane and podocytes .

root cause

The disease can occur idiopathically or due to deposits of immune complexes in the kidney, often with hepatitis C , systemic lupus erythematosus , chronic hepatitis B , subacute bacterial endocarditis, and infected shunt .

Occurrence

Women are more often affected than men.

Clinical manifestations

Type I with nephrotic syndrome is a progressive disease that leads to end-stage renal failure in half of those affected within 10 years and in 90% within 20 years .

Other autoimmune diseases can be associated.

Prospect of healing

Early diagnosis and treatment play a big role in the prognosis in children.
