Memelland People's Party

The Memelland People's Party ( MVP ) was a party of the German majority population in the Memelland . It existed from 1925 to 1935 and was included in the Memelland unit list .

meaning

The party represented middle-class middle-class positions and was significantly influenced by the interests of trade and industry. She was close to the DVP .

The chairpersons were Joseph Kraus (1877–1939), Wilhelm Brindlinger (1890–1967) and Richard Meyer (1885–1970).

With August Baldschus , the MVP provided a member of the state directorate from January 12 to November 8, 1926.

Elections to the Seimas

In May 1926 Robert Grabow and the teacher Max Jagstaidt were elected as MVP representatives to MPs in the Lithuanian Seimas in Kovno .

Elections to the Seimelis

In the elections for Seimelis , the MVP became the second strongest German party. According to Jürgen W. Falter , the MVP achieved the following results. Mads Ole Balling comes up with slightly different percentages, the number of seats is the same for both.
