Mena Schoenfeld (born August 2, 1882 in Bergen , Norway ; † October 24, 1945 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German sculptor and painter.

Life and work

At the age of 33, she married the Bad Soden painter Richard Schoenfeld in 1915. Mena Schoenfeld studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main (now the State University of Fine Arts - Städelschule ) in Frankfurt am Main , with Professor Friedrich , who was already well-known at the time Christoph Hausmann .

Only a few of her portrait busts are still known today through preserved photos; one of the originals, a girl's head made of plaster, is owned by the city of Bad Soden, another is privately owned by the family. There is also a relief on a bronze plate of the red sandstone tombstone, which shows two lovers shaking hands as they parting.

After she got to know Richard Schoenfeld, she developed her artistic skills through painting lessons with her husband, also in painting, which is also only documented by a few paintings. Mena Schoenfeld died on October 24, 1945 in Bad Soden am Taunus.
