Menhir de la Hune

The menhir de la Hune stands in a field not far from the river Ouette west of Bazougers , southeast of Laval in the Mayenne department in France .

The highest menhir in the Mayenne department at around 5.6 m stands between the hamlets of Hune, Poiriers and Ruellonnière.

It has three grooves on its north side and is not in any archaeological context.

While the preserved megalithic tombs are in the north of the department, in the Colmont and Ernée valleys and on the upper reaches of the Mayenne , the menhirs are more numerous in the Laval basin.

The La Hune menhir has been a listed building since 1889.
