Menhirs Jean and Jeanne

The menhirs Jean and Jeanne von Kerlédan are 340 m apart, east of the village of Kerlédan, at the junction of the D25 road in Sauzon on Belle-Île-en-Mer in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

Jean is about 140 m and Jeanne about 410 m northeast of the hamlet of Petit-Anvorte. Jean is about 4.7 and Jeanne about 4.05 m high. There are only a fewmenhirs lefton the island. Jean and Jeanne were named in memory of two other menhirs that were destroyed in 1830. "Jean de Runelo" made of redslatewas 3.6 m high and "Jeanne de Runelo" made ofgranitehad a height of 7.86 m and a weight of about 25 tons.

The historian Théodore-Gaston-Joseph Chasle de La Touche wrote in the "Histoire de Belle-Ile-En-Mer" in 1852: "These two beautiful menhirs were broken to build the walls of the Kersantel court."

Are located near / are the tumulus of Borderun and 3.5 m high and 6.2 ton menhir " Pierre Sainte Anne ".
