Florian Franke (born September 18, 1987 in Wuppertal ) is a German singer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist .

Life

Franke began taking piano lessons at the age of 5. In 1996, when he joined the Wuppertal Kurrende , he began his vocal training. In addition to concert tours with the choir throughout Europe, Franke began to sing as a soloist in theaters and operas. Until his voice broke, he was active in the concert choir of the kurrende, where he won the German choir competition with the Wuppertaler Knabenchor. In 2006 he left the Kurrende.

With the onset of his voice breaking, Franke took guitar lessons and became enthusiastic about popular music. After graduating from high school in 2007 at St. Anna Gymnasium in Wuppertal, Franke began playing as a jazz pianist and singer in hotel lounges and touring Germany. In 2008 he moved to Hamburg and worked on a studio project with William "Billy" King, among others. In 2009 he began his studies at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg , which he graduated in 2012. This was followed by the founding of his first band, which after several changes and developments in 2008 resulted in "crushhour". In December 2009 "crushhour" was awarded the German Rock and Pop Prize . Shortly after the award, however, the band broke up.

After the separation Franke began to be active as a solo musician, wrote among other things, through a competition initiated by Radio Wuppertal , the stadium anthem of the Wuppertaler SV and designed the musical contribution to the German Youth Literature Prize 2013. He is also repeatedly in TV productions as a pianist of well-known stars see. Among other things, he played for Louane at schlag den Raab in 2015 and for Kelvin Jones in the ZDF television garden in 2016 . In 2015 he founded the music duo Talgold. Concerts in the Stadthalle Wuppertal and appearances in the Bergisches Land followed. At the end of 2016, the duo separated and Franke began performing solo again.

This was followed by a tour of Germany and the release of his first CD "Stadtgeflüster", which also earned him national fame. Airplays followed on North German Radio , West German Radio and several local radio stations such as Fritz and Radio Essen . He was also allowed to open concerts by Philipp Dittberner and Anastacia . In autumn 2017 he toured through French-speaking Switzerland, organized by the Association Germanofolies, and was back on stage with a band. Among other things, he played in the Stravinski Auditorium in Montreux.

In November 2018 he released his second studio album "Mond" via Motor Entertainment, which entered the iTunes Charts - Singer Songwriter Germany at number 14 on the release date. He was also nominated for the Rio Reiser Prize and was awarded second place.

A small tour with a new band followed in 2019. The singer also released a new edition of his song "Wind", which entered the Singer Songwriter Charts Germany at number 55 on iTunes. In October 2019 Franke was awarded the Kulturplus Prize . The musician announced a new release for 2020.
