Coordinates: 29 ° 41 ′ S , 121 ° 1 ′ E The Shire of Menzies is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 124,635 km² and has about 500 inhabitants (2016).
Menzies is located in the southeast of the state and extends to the border with South Australia . The LGA is located about 500 to 1300 kilometers east of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is in the village of Menzies, where around 100 people live (2016).

The Menzies Council has seven members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the three wards (three each from Menzies and Kookynie, one from the Ularring Ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
