Mercy Apondi Obiero (born August 27, 1978 in Nairobi ) is a Kenyan weightlifter .

Career

Obiero made her international debut at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Obiero could not place in Manchester, four years later at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne she reached 7th place in the class up to 63 kg. In 2010 in Delhi she finished the competition in the class up to 69 kg in fifth place. Obiero qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and took 13th place in the competition in the 69 kg class.

Obiero is married. Her older brother is weightlifter David Obiero .
