Merel Witteveen (born May 12, 1985 in Leiden ) is a former Dutch sailor .
successes
Merel Witteveen took part in the boat class Yngling at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . Together with Annemieke Bes , she was a crew member of helmsman Mandy Mulder and won the silver medal with them when she finished second thanks to 31 points behind the British and ahead of the Greek. After the games, Witteveen first switched to the 470 dinghy and then to the Elliott 6m . In 2008 she became vice European champion in Yngling, and in 2011 she won bronze at the Elliott.
