Merops Perkosios
Merops ( Greek Μέροψ ) from Perkote on the Hellespont , hence Merops Perkosios , is a legendary king of Rhyndakos and a seer in Greek mythology .
His two sons Amphios and Adrastos are killed in the Trojan War fighting the Greeks. His daughter Arisbe was Priam's first wife . His daughter Kleite was married to Kyzikos . In the Etymologicum magnum it is called percote.
In the sources he is referred to as the King of Rhyndakos. The Rhyndakos is still known today as a river, but is not a corresponding territory or people. It is therefore to be read that he was ruler of an area on the south coast of the Marmara Sea.
