Meshady Azizbekov

Meschadi Asisbekow ( Azerbaijani Məşədi Əzizbəyov , Russian Мешади Азизбеков ; born January 6 . Jul / 18th January  1876 greg. In Baku ; † 20th September 1918 in Krasnovodsk ) was an Azerbaijani politicians ( Russian Social Democratic Labor Party , Communist Party of Russia ). He was one of the commissioners of the Baku Commune . Asisbekov was an engineer by profession and participated in revolutionary movements in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Iran. He was executed by Socialist Revolutionaries along with the other commissioners in Baku in 1918 near Krasnovodsk. Azizbekov had cult status in the Soviet Union. Many poems and songs were composed in his honor. There are streets named after him in Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
