Mesila Doda

Mesila Doda (born February 6, 1971 in Kukës ) is an Albanian politician .

Career

Doda studied economics at the University of Tirana . There she was politicized and in 1991 was one of the founding members of the Partia Demokratike e Shqipërisë , which was constituted in Albania during the overthrow of the Stalinist regime. She then took the opportunity to emigrate abroad and studied philosophy at the Pontifical Urban University between 1991 and 1995 .

In 2001 Doda was elected to the Kuvendi i Shqipërisë for the first time . Until 2017 she was a member of the Albanian parliament. She left the Partia Demokratike e Shqipërisë in autumn 2015 and, after a period as a non-attached MP , joined the Partia për Drejtësi, Integrim dhe Unitet in spring 2016 . During this time she exercised various roles, particularly in the area of ​​media policy and at times chaired the Council for Radio and Television, among others. In the summer of 2016, she made headlines when she spoke out vehemently against the rights of homosexuals and subsequently a case was initiated by the office of the Commissioner for Protection against Discrimination.
